With David de Gea’s deal dropping on transfer deadline day, everyone is curious to find out who Louis van Gaal will choose as Manchester United’s first choice goalkeeper.
David de Gea
After being voted as the best United player by the fans and players last season, David de Gea showed his wish of joining Real Madrid. The latter made an offer on transfer deadline day, with the deal not being completed because the papers were not delivered on time to the Spanish FA. Real Madrid and Manchester United blamed each other for failing to deliver papers on time. This leaves David de Gea at Manchester United at least until January, which leaves the fans with a lot of unanswered questions. Is David de Gea ready to play for Manchester United again? Will the fans accept him back in the Manchester United goal? Is Louis van Gaal ready to give him a chance to be Manchester United’s first choice goalkeeper again?
Sergio Romero
Romero has been the first choice goalkeeper so far this season. He signed for Manchester United from Sampdoria this summer on a free transfer. Although he managed to keep 4 clean sheets out of the first 5 competitive games, he still has not shown his full capabilities as a world class goalkeeper. Will Louis van Gaal keep his trust in him now that De Gea is available again?
Victor Valdes
After being told by Louis van Gaal that he is not needed at Manchester United after allegedly refusing to play for the Under 21s, Valdes has edned up staying at the club. He was very close to sign for Besiktas but the deal broke on the last days of the transfer window. He has updated his Twitter photo with the Manchester United emblem, showing that he still wants to play for this team. Will Louis van Gaal give him another chance?
