ON THIS DAY: Beckham scores a screamer from the half way line!

On this day, in 1996 Manchester United legend David Beckham scored from the halfway lines in a game against Wimbledon. Becks received the ball in his own half, dribbled toward the halfway line, spotted the keeper off his line and kicked an ambitious shot toward goal. As the keeper ran backward to reach it, the ball fell over his head and into the net.
